TV Guide synopsis:
    Fry and Amy have to spend Valentine's Day together --
    literally -- when Fry's head is attached to Amy's body.

Title Sequence

Opening theme promotion:
	Not Based On The Novel by James Fenimore Cooper

Opening theme cartoon:
	A Little Lulu cartoon by Paramount/Famous
	Studios, 1943-1948

Did You Notice...

... the "Beta-Romeo" -- with the "Cross Your Heart Seatbelt"
    that protects, lifts, and separates?
... Amy's holding 4 aces, which is perhaps why the driver is
    so impressed with what he sees?
... Zoidberg's human anatomy chart is upside-down?
... Larry (Mom's #2 son) and Leela's ex-boss in line outside
    the Dating Service? And the Hattie has also used the
    service?
... Zapp's drinking wussy white wine, while his date is drinking
    manly red wine? (Though in once scene they're trying each
    other's drinks.)

Daniel L. Dreibelbis:
... Fry seems to have a serious caffeine addiction, judging by
    by how fast he was gulping down cups of that coffee?
... Zapp's date seems to resemble Homer Simpson in drag?

Adam Foster:
... in the supply cupboard, there are two binders/books/boxes
    labelled 'P' and 'NP' in the bottom left of the picture. I
    think this is referring to P and NP problems. There's a
    third, similar-looking box -- but the label is conveniently
    blocked by Amy's arm. Could this signify some kind of
    upcoming revolution in mathematics? Interesting ... :-)

Haynes Lee:
... out of 994 Bending Units made, only 90 didn't get recalled?
... Amy's compact sounds like a Star Trek communicator?
... Bender uses very retro computer punch cards for his dating
    service?

Animation, Continuity, and Other Goofs

When car windows get steamed up, the condensation forms on the
inside of the windows. The tow truck driver shouldn't have been
able to wipe away the steam to look inside.  {dld}

Zoidberg's dating woes have nothing to do with everything we just
saw in [2ACV05].  {hl}

Why does Bender's Computer Dating Service sign have such crude
hand-lettering?  Doesn't he have any good fonts installed?  {jd}

Reviews

Haynes Lee: Kind of a letdown after [2ACV05], which would have
    made a better Valentine's episode if it wasn't for all those
    graphic jelly references.  (B-)

Eric Sansoni: After two episodes in a row full of awkward
    romance and severed body parts, Futurama has become both
    the funniest and weirdest comedy on TV. There may be
    nothing as humorous as characters who exhibit the most
    genuinely stupid traits that real humans possess. In
    showing how a romance develops between airheads Amy and Fry,
    the writers strike comedic lightning. Unfortunately once
    again the relevance wears off when the more outrageous plot
    begins. By wrapping up the Amy/Fry story so soon, the rest
    of the episode feels a little flat. Gags about Fry's head's
    discomfort replace the kind of artful romantic quadrangle
    seen in the Titanic ep. But the first half is so funny I
    was too laughed out to care. (A-)

Comments and Other Observations

Originally aired a week before [2ACV06] so it would coincide with
Valentine's Day.  {es}

Bender is recalled because he's a Bender Unit 22, a model number
explicitly listed on the recall notice.  {jd}

Does the Austro-Afro-Antarctico-AmerAsian Auto Association mean
that Europe no longer exists? Or do they just snub it due to
bad drivers?  Maybe it was taken over by Africa or Asia.  {rjm}

Condensed Milt: If I remember my piscine biology correctly ...
EEEWWWW!  It's fish sperm.  {dji}

Al Gore on the $500 bill: I'm sure society would want to immortalize
the creator of the Internet, whatever his political aspirations. (I
know, I'm going to Hell for that one.)  {gr}

The Big Black Monolith From 2010

We see the giant black monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey
and its sequel, 2010. In 2010, it broadcasts a message warning
humans to stay away from Europa. Fortunately for Fry and Amy
(and Zoidberg, even though he's not human), it's out of order
about 990 years later, when they go to Europa.  {jd}

Quotes and Scene Summary

Abraham Lincoln: Four score and eleven hundred and forty-five years
                 ago, our forefather's foreheads conceived a new nation.

A stirring speech from Abraham Lincoln's head degenerates into a
President's Day car sale ad.

Malfunc. Eddie: I'm Malfunctioning Eddie, and I'm malfunctioning so
                badly that I'm practically giving these cars away!

Amy: Hey, let's go car shopping. My parents promised me if I got
        all B's they'd buy me a bar, and I got all C's!

Fry is sipping the free coffee in the showroom.

Salesman: Nothing makes you feel more like a man than a
          ThunderCougarFalconBird. So how much were you thinking
          of spending on this ThunderCougarFalconBird?
     Fry: Sorry, I'm not here to buy.
Salesman: I understand, and it's wonderful that you don't care
          whether anyone questions your sexual orientation.
     Fry: I care! I care plenty! I just don't know how to make
          them stop!
Salesman: One word:  ThunderCougarFalconBird.

Amy is leaning towards buying a luxury car from smooth-talking
Victor.

Victor: No dog food for Victor tonight!

Fry: Valentine's Day's coming? Oh, crap! I forgot to get a
     girlfriend again.

Out of fuel on Mercury, Amy calls for a tow.

Amy: Luckily I'm a member of the Austro-Afro-Antarctico-AmerAsian
     Auto Association ... Hello?  Septuple-A?

Amy: I'm gonna get sweat on my sweatsuit!
Fry: Hey, tell me something. You've got all this money. How come
     you're always dressed like you're doing your laundry?

Amy: You know, Fry? It's nice to find someone I can talk to about
     stuff.  And junk.
Fry: Yeah! It's like we feel the same way about junk, and stuff,
     or whatever.

Amy: So while they're towing us, you wanna do it?

Hermes: Anyone spend the night together?
  Crew: No.
   Amy: Yep.
   Fry: Kind of.

Hermes pounds on the door of the supply closet.

  Hermes: Fry! Amy! Put your pants back on! I need a stapler!
Zoidberg: Stop! Stop! If you interrupt the mating dance, the male
          will become enraged and maul us with his fearsome gonad!

  Fry: I'm not a one-woman man, Leela.
Leela: You'll be back to zero soon enough.

Leela: This sort of thing always happens with office romances.

   Al: Nice eyeball, Eyeball.
Leela: Nice ass, ass.
-- Baby got comeback, "Put Your Head On My Shoulders"

Zapp: Baby, wait! You didn't show me your surprise!
-- A crying shame (or is it game?), "Put Your Head On My Shoulders"
