The Funny Papers, a regular feature of Terrain,
was a media watch column. Each month I took a look at the San
Francisco Bay Area print media and their coverage of
environmental issues. Much of this coverage is pretty laughable
(if not exactly "funny").
Though written in 1996, the issues and poor coverage are sadly
still current. These online versions of the columns include
links to web sites where more information is available, and an
occasional paragraph that didn't fit into Terrain for
space reasons. I've appended an "Updates" section to each page
to cover news that develops after the column went to press.
