Introduction and Notes

This bibliography is in chronological order of creation, rather than of publication.

The "Nina's Adventures" comic strip was often printed at about half the size of a comic book page, so they will be referred to as "half-page" size. The strip's original "home paper," the Santa Cruz Comic News, would sometimes publish two on a page, one atop the other; thus she drew a few single strips that were twice that size to fill that space (and tended to resubmit these to comic book publishers), so they will be referred to as "full-page" size.

Most of the mini-comics are impossible to get, but Nina's second book collects a number of the most recent ones.

Thanks to Nina Paley herself for making so many out-of-print titles available to me, and of course for creating all this great stuff in the first place.
