PDF, or Portable Document Format, is a way to distribute documents electronically, in printable form.
PDF documents print well, look good on screen, and keep their original design. In fact, a PDF document can be viewed and printed, without translation, on nearly any modern computer. All the fonts and images of the document are contained in a single compact file.
To view and print a PDF document, you need a PDF viewer application installed on your computer. Adobe's Acrobat PDF Reader is available for Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, OS/2, and others.
